WA POLICE BOWLING CLUB 

 FOURS Innaloo Aug 26 and Sept 2

Well originally this week was scheduled for the club triples but due to illness the stars aligned for a perfect fours draw so the committee agreed to change the fixture.  This allowed for no byes or alignment. Perfect.  32 players and 8 teams.

The popstick draw was done with some strong combinations.  Club Champion Leon was looking to continue his great form from last year and got a great draw with Mike carey as skip, Rick and harvey in his side.

The first round got under way and there were some tight games and a couple of small blowouts.

The second game for the evening was the semi finals with the same sort of results from the first round.  Couple of big scores none more so than Mike against Corny who's team got a hiding to nothing, with all four in Mikes team hitting their straps.

The finals saw in the major Mike Carey, Leon Smith, Rick Scupham and Harvey Larson taking on Arthur Bartlett, Ron Hutchinson, Bill Little and Tanya (Misty) Belcher on a cold and blustery night, thankyou you know who for the roof.  in the end the MIke Carey rink was way too strong and won 17/6.  Congrats to both teams on making the final and Leon on a great start to his title defence.

The plate final saw Wayne Olive, Paul Walker (sub for Kerry Hutchinson, get well Kerry) Jenni Rogalski and John Mawson taking on Tony Kay, Dave Hitchman, Tony redden and Michael Humphrey. This game was a much tighter contest  and in the end there was only 2 shots the difference with Wayne Olives team winning 12/10.
